The invention discloses a cultivation substrate with a root system maintaining effect for hot pepper. The cultivation substrate is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 0.4 to 0.5 part of aluminum glycinate, 43 to 46 parts of cottonseed meal, 26 to 27 parts of cassava dregs, 2 to 4 parts of calcium lactate, 1 to 2 parts of apple cider vinegar, 4 to 6 parts of monopotassium phosphate, 3 to 4 parts of calcium chloride, 1 to 3 parts of pullulan polysaccharide, 33 to 35 parts of jerusalem artichoke tuber, 2 to 3 parts of EM fungicide and a proper amount of water. According to the cultivation substrate disclosed by the invention, aiming at growth characteristics of a root system of the hot pepper, soft root hairs of the root system of the hot pepper are protected from being stimulated by environment and physically damaged by using the pullulan polysaccharide with high viscosity and tracing ability; the buffer of a pH value near the root system is ensured by adding the aluminum glycinate, and a suitable soil environment for expansion and absorption of the root system of the hot pepper is created; by combining with input of a large amount of organic matters, the stability of hot pepper production is realized.
