The invention belongs to the field of traditional Chinese medicinal preparations and particularly relates to a 
liniment for treating alopecia. The 
liniment is prepared from the following raw materialsin parts by weight: 10 to 15 parts of 
semen persicae, 8 to 16 parts of 
herb of 
lysimachia foenum-graecum hance, 6 to 15 parts of radix angelicae sinensis, 5 to 20 parts of 
flos carthami, 5 to 15 parts of radix polygoni multiflori, 2 to 5 parts of rhizoma gastrodiae, 5 to 20 parts of radix saposhnikoviae, 1 to 5 parts of ginger, 10 to 15 parts of fresh cacumen platycladi, 5 to 10 parts of raw liquorice root and 10 to 20 parts of 
radix ophiopogonis. The 
liniment is prepared by mixing and crushing all the medicines, adding 150 to 220 parts by weight of 60 to 75 degree 
alcohol, soaking for 7 to 14 days, and filtering to obtain a liquid 
medicine. The liniment has the advantages of no toxic or side effects and safety in use; the liniment can be used for treating neurological alopecia, seborrheic alopecia, 
hypotrichosis, madarosis and other similar diseases as well as middle and old-age alopecia, and illness and 
postpartum alopecia due to deficiency of Qi and blood; meanwhile, the preparation also can be used for protecting hairs, removing scurf, relieving itch and protecting the 
scalp.
