The invention relates to a medicinal preparation for treating burn and scald, which is a preferred externally applied agent for treating various levels of burn and scald. The medicinal preparation isprepared from the following raw materials in portion by weight: 0.5 to 2 portions of golden thread, 0.5 to 2 portions of weeping forsythiae 
capsule, 0.8 to 2 portions of amur corktree 
bark, 1 to 2 portions of charred 
sanguisorba, 0.5 to 1 portion of carbonized human hair, 1 to 2 portions of cochinchnese 
asparagus root, 1 to 2 portions of mongolian snakegourd root, 1 to 2 portions of dahurian 
angelica root, 0.5 to 1 portions of lightyellow 
sophora root, 1 to 1.5 portions of liquoric root, 1 to 3 portions of common 
andrographis herb, 0.5 to 0.8 portion of tree peony 
bark, 0.5 to 0.8 portion of sinkiang 
arnebia root, 0.5 to 0.8 portion of safflower, 0.5 to 0.8 portion of 
borneol and 30 to 65 portions of 
sesame oil. The medicinal preparation has quick response to 
inflammation and pain of the 
wound surface of the burn and scald, obviously relives the pain of a patient after the preparation is applied for more than ten minutes, can kill a predominant 
pathogen causing infection, namely 
gram negative bacterium, and can form a layer of protecting film on the 
wound surface to effectively prevent or control the infection and 
cross infection of the 
wound surface.
